Precautions for Selecting Marine Oval Gear Flow Meters
Release time: 2026-09-20
- Explosion-proof certification: When used in hazardous areas such as fuel oil tanks, pump rooms, and engine rooms, Ex d IIB T6 or Ex ia IIC T6 ratings are usually required.
- Tilt and rolling/pitching resistance: Ships continuously roll and pitch. Relevant standards (e.g., GB/T 10319) require the instrument to withstand a 22.5° tilt in each of the fore, aft, port, and starboard directions and still operate normally. Because oval gear flowmeters rely on mechanical gear meshing for measurement and contain no free liquid surface or gravity-sensitive components, they are in principle relatively insensitive to rolling and pitching; however, the manufacturer’s tilt and rolling/pitching test report should still be confirmed.
