Detailed Description

Working principle

The vortex flowmeter operates on the Kármán vortex street principle and is used to measure the flow rate of steam, gas, and low‑viscosity liquids. When fluid flows past a vortex shedder placed perpendicular to the flow direction of the measured medium, two alternating rows of vortices are generated on the two downstream sides of the shedder; this is called the Kármán vortex street.
